Carrier Service Factory 4 Features

The Carrier Service Factory 4 is a carrier-grade SIP telephony platform for building, running and managing intelligent voice services. It replaces the classic Intelligent Network (IN) with a modern, web-based toolset: you design call flows visually, connect them to your data and systems, and put them live in minutes – no switch programming required.

The heart of the platform is the Service Creation Environment (SCE) – an intuitive, drag-and-drop editor where call flows are built by connecting logical function blocks.

Service Creation Environment (SCE)

  • Visual flow editor – design call flows by dragging and connecting function blocks, no coding required.
  • Rich block library – dozens of ready-to-use building blocks for routing, media, logic, data and integration.
  • Reusable sub-flows – build once and reuse across services; pass parameters for flexible configuration.
  • Variables & parameters – work with call, user and system variables to make flows dynamic.
  • Version history – every change is versioned; compare versions side by side and restore any earlier state with one click.
  • Productivity built in – undo/redo, grouping, zoom, grid snapping and in-editor help for every block.

Intelligent Call Routing

  • Flexible number handling – toll-free (0800), premium-rate (0900), corporate and geographic numbers.
  • Time- and date-based routing – route by opening hours, holidays, calendars and time zones.
  • Geographic routing – route calls based on the caller's location.
  • Load balancing & overflow – distribute traffic across destinations and gracefully handle peaks.
  • Follow-me, redirect & priority ringing – reach the right person on the right device.
  • Allow/block lists – VIP lists, block lists and dynamic (automatic) block lists.
  • Caller checks – anonymous/CLIP, payphone and call-cause checks for smarter decisions.
  • Admission control – protect capacity with admission categories, groups and maximum call durations.

Voice Menus & Media (IVR)

  • Announcements – play audio files or generate speech on the fly.
  • Caller input – collect digits, PINs and menu selections via DTMF.
  • Call recording – record calls or full sessions, including stereo recording.
  • Conferencing – host multi-party conferences with moderation, jingles and prompts.
  • Background announcements – keep callers informed while the flow works in the background.
  • Price announcements – transparent cost information for premium services.

Speech & Artificial Intelligence

  • Text-to-Speech – natural voices from leading providers (Google, Azure, AWS, OpenAI).
  • Speech-to-Text – transcribe recordings and caller speech in many languages.
  • Real-time speech recognition – let callers simply speak their choice, or press a key – whichever comes first.
  • AI assistants – describe what you want in plain language and let the built-in assistant generate the logic for you.
  • AI chat – a full AI assistant with saved history, right inside the platform.

Integration & Data

  • HTTP & web services – connect flows to any REST/HTTP backend.
  • Databases & directories – query SQL databases and LDAP directories directly from a flow.
  • Dynamic Tables – a fast, built-in data store for lookups, with high-performance updates and concurrent editing.
  • Lists & lookups – phone-number lists, target lists and reusable value sets.
  • E-mail & file transfer – send notifications, recordings and transcriptions by e-mail or FTP.
  • Custom logic – add calculations and scripted logic where you need full flexibility.

APIs & Automation

  • Trigger API – launch outbound calls and campaigns programmatically and track their results.
  • Management API – manage resource data (such as tables and number lists) from your own systems.
  • Open standards – documented REST APIs with OpenAPI/Swagger and secure API-key management.

Real-Time Text & Accessibility

  • Real-Time Text (RTT, RFC 4103) – support for real-time text conversation alongside voice.

Multi-Tenancy

  • Customer profiles – manage many tenants on one platform, with hierarchy and inherited visibility.
  • Tenant isolation – per-tenant service numbers, solutions and audit logs.

Security & Compliance

  • AI-assisted security review – the platform is continuously reviewed for security with AI-based analysis in addition to conventional testing.
  • Multi-factor authentication – secure sign-in with MFA via modern identity standards (OIDC/Keycloak).
  • Encryption at rest – secrets and credentials are stored encrypted.
  • Abuse & overload protection – built-in protection against routing loops, call floods and request floods, with automatic warning e-mails when protections trigger.
  • Outbound request protection – safeguards against server-side request forgery (SSRF) for outbound calls.
  • Hardened by design – sandboxed scripting, spoof-resistant client-IP handling, fine-grained permissions and injection-hardened data handling.

Monitoring, Statistics & Reporting

  • Call detail records (CDRs) – complete, searchable call records.
  • Statistics & reports – charts, custom filters, itemized records and automatic CSV export.
  • Usage insights – track how numbers, blocks and resources are used over time.
  • Telemetry – open telemetry (OTLP) and Grafana integration for live monitoring.
  • Alarming & logs – alerts and detailed logs for full operational visibility.

Administration & User Experience

  • Role & permission management – fine-grained control over who can do what.
  • White-label theming – per-domain logos and colors to match your brand.
  • Dark mode & modern UI – a fast, responsive interface built on the latest web technology.
  • Dashboard – call statistics and quick access at a glance.
  • Backup & data retention – built-in backup and configurable data-retention controls.

Documentation & Support

  • In-app documentation – complete, searchable documentation with an embedded AI help chat.
  • Curated FAQ – practical answers on routing, SIP, audio, APIs and more, in English and German.

Platform & Architecture

  • Carrier-grade & highly available – runs across two sites for resilience.
  • Scalable – scales vertically and horizontally to match traffic and concurrent-call volumes.
  • Standard SIP – operates as a SIP back-to-back user agent (B2BUA); inbound and outbound calling.
  • Modern & containerized – built on the latest .NET, delivered in Docker containers on Linux; typically deployed on-premises.
